Wareham man charged with 3rd OUI
Police arrested a 41-year-old Wareham man on May 12, charging him with operating under the influence, third offense, after he allegedly struck a house on Main Street then fled the scene.
Police said Jason Mackenzie of 33 Cromesett Road was arrested at his home, approximately two miles from 408 Main St. where the crash allegedly occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m.
According to police, Mackenzie struck the house with his car’s side mirror then left. After receiving a description of the car, police said they found Mackenzie attempting to pull into his driveway.
Police said Mackenzie appeared to be so drunk that he almost fell over while trying to get out of his car. Mackenzie, who police said was uncooperative, was arrested at the scene by Officer Stephen Harrison.
In addition to operating under the influence, Mackenzie was charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of property damage.
