Wareham man stabbed, receiving medical treatment
A 38-year-old Wareham resident was wounded in the back this morning by two men who have been taken into police custody.
Officers and Wareham EMS personnel responded to a reported disturbance in the area of #12 Penekee Street at 11:30 a.m regarding a group of males and a knife.
Upon arrival, officers noticed an adult male in the street who sustained what appeared to be at least one stab wound in his back.
Also in the immediate area were two adult males who investigators later determined committed the crime during an argument with the victim. The males were placed into custody and transported to WPD for booking and further investigative purposes.
The victim, a 38 year old Wareham resident, was transported by EMS personnel to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of his injury, which appears non-life-threatening at this time.
Names of the involved participants and further information regarding the incident will be withheld at this time, due to ongoing investigation of the incident.
