Wareham Middle School students rock annual science fair

Students at Wareham Middle School put their scientific mettle to the test on March 2 at their fourth annual science fair.

The event featured students from grades five through nine with projects that ran the gamut from cleaning pennies to finding out how much sugar is different soft drinks.

The fair also featured a 12-foot-tall model volcano, courtesy of the science club, that students could go inside and explore.

Students Emerson and Finley Kearns took home the grand prize for grades six and seven with their project, “Emotional Fruit.” Samantha Baptiste and Mae Langelier won the grand prize for grade five with their project, “How Much Sugar Is In Our Drinks?”.

Will Wiksten’s project, “Rubik’s Magic” netted him second place for grades six and seven. Skyler Rinta won second place for grade five with her project on germs.

Third prize for sixth and seventh grade went to Lain Potter and Madison Conner for their project, “What Cleans Pennies Best?”

Angelino Placentino Brayden Cannon and Sienna Cabe took third prize for grade five for their project, “Putting Out The Fire.”
