A warming center is now open at the municipal center, 48 Marion Road, for anyone with an emergency need for shelter, Public Health Director Patrick MacDonald has announced.

Anyone who can remain in place should do so, he said, to avoid interrupting the snow clearing effort.

He reminds the public that, because of staffing shortages at the municipal maintenance department and limited private contractor availability, there may be delays in clearing the roads both during and after the storm. Keeping off the roads will allow the work to be done more efficiently.
