Two Wareham residents were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop in Barnstable Friday night, according to Sgt. Sean Sweeney of the Barnstable Police Department.

According to Sweeney, members of the Barnstable Street Crime Unit pulled over a vehicle occupied by driver Jennifer E. Riccardi, 45, and passenger Johnathan Dupuis, 40, both of Wareham, on Route 132 in West Barnstable at about 10 p.m. Friday.

During the traffic stop, Barnstable police officer Matt Blondin and Yarmouth police officer Nicholas Ambrosini recovered cocaine, drug packaging materials, a digital scale and drug cutting agents, according to Sweeney.

Riccardi and Dupuis were both charged with possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate narcotics laws.

Sweeney said Riccardi and Dupuis were held on bail and were to be arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Monday.
