Reports of a drunk driver on Cranberry Highway led Wareham Police to two arrests on Saturday, Jan. 26: One for operating under the influence and another for an outstanding warrant.

Wareham Police officers James White and Garrett Smith reportedly responded to the calls for a drunk driver around 8:20 p.m. at a Mobil Gas Station, located at 2238 Cranberry Highway.

When they arrived, officers said they found Garry Currier, 67, of Falmouth, standing near the pumps next to his car.

Police say Currier appeared to be impaired, and after an investigation, he was placed under arrest.

Currier was charged with operating under the influence, 3rd offense, and possession of an open container in a motor vehicle.

His passenger, Kevin Ouellette, 51, of Falmouth, was also arrested after it was determined he had an active warrant out for his arrest.

During the booking process at Wareham Police Department, Officer Matthew Donovan reportedly located a small bag of suspected cocaine and Currier was further charged with possession of a class B substance.
