Wareham resident reports from the Boston Marathon finish line

Apr 15, 2013

A series of explosions cut the Boston Marathon short. At least three runners from Wareham were participating in the race.

Wareham resident Rochelle Simmons was there waiting for her mother Donna Simmons, and her friend Tara Greaves to finish up the race.

"I was in a restaurant so I didn't see much, just heard two loud bangs and the walls started shaking and we ran," said Simmons.

Simmons says that her mother and Tara are fine, and that they were about three miles from the finish line when the incident occurred.

"It's crazy people are running around crying and confused I saw a man in tattered clothes covered in blood. It's awful," Simmons reported from the scene.
