Wareham School Committee welcomes back former member

Feb 7, 2019

Wareham School Committee members welcomed back a familiar face on Thursday night.

The meeting featured the return of longtime member Geoff Swett, who was recently appointed to fill a brief vacancy left by Rebekah Pratt. She stepped down in December due to her family moving out of town.

“I want to thank the School Committee and Board of Selectmen for their support and this two-month appointment,” said Swett. “I can assure you it’s an honor and always has been to be a part of this committee.”

Swett had previously served on the committee for four terms starting in 2005. He lost his most recent bid for reelection in April 2018 to Pratt and Michael Flaherty.

Swett is running for a seat on the board in the April election. His opponent is current board member Mary Morgan. Two other candidates, Jennifer Bailey Apryl Rossi are running for a second open seat.
