Wareham students spend Labor Day helping others
Some members of the Wareham High School Key Club volunteered their time over Labor Day weekend at Camp Sunshine in Casco, Maine.
Key Club members Daniella Cobb, Kylie Enos, Sara Gallagher and Bridgette King all helped at the camp, which is a family retreat center located on Lake Sebago. The camp combines respite, recreation and support, while enabling hope and promoting joy, for children with life-threatening illnesses.
Camp Sunshine is the only program in the nation offered year-round that serves the entire family of children with these illnesses. The program is free of charge to families and includes onsite medical and psychosocial support. Wareham students worked that week with families off treatment from oncology, serving as recreational counselors for the children.
