Wareham Summer of Celebration 2014 needs folks with fifes

Nov 13, 2013

The Wareham Summer of Celebration is looking for folks to help with -- and participate in -- the town’s six-week-long party. Here’s what the committee is seeking:

Historic craftsmen, vendors and musicians for the June 13-14 military encampment. Craftsmen and vendors should be appropriate to the period between 1812 and 1814. Fife and drum units are sought for historically accurate music.

Floats for the July 12 parade. The parade will celebrate Wareham’s 1739 incorporation. Particularly sought are historic floats, antique cars, antique trucks, marching units, and military organizations.

Vendors for public safety day. July 13 will feature a hand-tub fire muster, displays of antique and modern fire apparatus and demonstrations by all manner of public safety personnel. Vendors of food and related merchandise are sought.

Anyone who wants to help. The Summer of Celebration planning committee has a job for any volunteer who is ready, willing, and able!
