Wareham Water invites residents to celebrate Drinking Water Week
The Wareham Fire District Water Department, the American Water Works Association and water professionals across North America will kick off Drinking Water Week, held the week of May 7, under the theme “Your Water – To Know It Is To Love It.”
All are invited to celebrate Drinking Water Week by recognizing the vital role water plays in daily lives. Focus will be placed on ways in which water consumers can take personal responsibility in caring for their tap water and water infrastructure at home and in the community.
To commemorate the week, water utilities, government entities, environmental advocates and schools will celebrate drinking water through public presentations, staff events and community festivals, providing information on how water consumers can understand their water.
Wareham Water employees will be wearing a special navy colored T-shirts which say, “Your Water – To Know It Is To Love It.” In addition, Wareham Water will have a table at the Oyster Festival on May 28 on Main Street next to the Fire Station to extend the celebration. There will be free give-a-ways as well as games.
