Wareham woman arrested on drug charges
A Wareham woman found in possession of 65 grams of cocaine and other drugs was arrested early Friday morning, according to Wareham Police.
At 1:30 a.m. on Friday Sept. 26, Wareham Police Officer Aaron Pacheco noticed a man and woman in an illegally parked vehicle at the Woods at Wareham Apartment complex off of Swifts Beach Road.
The woman, 24-year-old Courtney Cardoza of Onset, was found in possession of a plastic bag containing 20 grams of cocaine, which she attempted to kick under the police cruiser, according to police.
A search of the vehicle revealed two small plastic bags containing marijuana. The man in the vehicle was not found to be in possession of illegal substances and was not arrested at the scene, police said.
Cardoza was placed under arrest and transported to the Wareham Police Department, where she was found to be in possession of two more plastic bags containing a total of 45 grams of cocaine and three small bags of what police believed to be heroin.
Cardoza has been charged with trafficking a class B substance (cocaine), possession of a class A substance with intent to distribute (heroin), and possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance (marijuana). She will be arraigned on the charges at Wareham Fourth District Court on Friday, Sept. 26.
