Wareham woman charged with fentanyl trafficking
After conducting a federal investigation, Wareham detectives arrested a 27-year-old woman for trafficking fentanyl, police said.
On Thursday, April 25, detectives raided 308 Onset Ave. with a search warrant and seized fentanyl, numerous pills, firearm parts, and over 100 rounds of ammunition, according to Acting Wareham Police Chief John A. Walcek.
Kayla Boutilier of that address was arrested and charged with trafficking in fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute a Class E drug, and possession of ammunition without a license (Firearms Identification Card), the chief said.
The raid at Boutilier’s residence was in conjunction with a federal investigation into a drug ring that was operating in and around Wareham and New Bedford, according to Walcek and U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling’s office. Five men and one woman are charged in three indictments with drug and firearm offenses in that federal probe.
