Wareham woman, two boys injured in deadly Carver crash
According to Carver police, a Wareham woman was involved in a head-on collision that resulted in the death of a 60-year-old Plymouth man on Wednesday.
Two cars—a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta driven by the Carver man and a 2013 Rav4 driven by the Wareham woman—collided near 89 Center Street in Carver at around 2:35 on April 30, police said.
Two Carver boys—a 4-year-old and a 3-year-old—were reportedly occupants of the Rav4.
As of Sunday, Carver police had not identified any of the parties involved.
Several 911 calls were made to Carver emergency personnel, and members of each of the Carver Police Department, the Fire Department, and EMS all reported to the scene of the accident to find several of the occupants trapped inside each of the two vehicles.
After each of the occupants were removed from the two vehicles, they were relocated to area hospitals. The Plymouth man was brought to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.
The two boys, who were in car seats, and the woman operating the Rav4 were all transported to South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth with serious injuries.
Police said that parts of Center Street were closed for a period of several hours while they conducted in initial investigation. They also said the investigation is ongoing.
