WCTV asks for support on Article 25
On behalf of Wareham Community Television, I'm asking for your support at Town Meeting on April 28, with your vote to make the old Boys and Girls Club building on Viking Drive available for lease.
If Article 25 passes at Town Meeting, WCTV intends to submit a proposal to lease the property; perhaps others will as well.
Our plan is to renovate the building in such a way as to visually improve the look of Viking Drive and, at the same time, provide a more robust media facility for the community. We also plan to construct a dedicated tv-ready meeting room that will be available to non-profit groups and town departments.
WCTV provides television programming to over 10,000 homes through Comcast and Verizon and to thousands more by streaming our programs over the Internet. We are a venue for everyone to practice their Constitutional Freedom of Speech and we cover a wide variety of events such as parades, live music, Town Meeting, the Gatemen home games, and various town department meetings.
We've donated time and resources to the Wareham Public Schools (for example: we recently paid admission and travel for 20 students attending video related classes at Wareham High School to attend the M.O.V.E. awards ceremony), the Council on Aging and to several non-profits through our Auction and Entertainment and Applause For a Cause events, just to name a few.
Please make an effort to join us at the Town Meeting and please consider supporting Article 25.
Thank you,
Jay Heard
