WCTV auction raises thousands for charity

Jun 1, 2011

The Wareham Community Television (WCTV) Live Auction & Entertainment Weekend, held May 20-21, raised $8,000 before expenses to benefit local charities.

"Mostly everything sold," said event organizer Sally Morrison.

All of the money raised through the auction will go directly to the Boys & Girls Club, Gianna's House, and the Onset Summer of Love music series.

It's the second year WCTV has hosted the auction fundraiser. Singer, comedian, impressionist, and Wareham summer resident Scott Record emceed the two-day event, which also featured nightly entertainment and opportunities to bid on everything from gift baskets, antiques, and collectibles to a professionally rebuilt 1988 Sea Ray Amberjack boat.
