WCTV Auction weekend planned
Singer, comedian, impressionist, and summer resident Scott Record will emcee the WCTV LIVE Auction & Entertainment on the weekend of May 21 and 22 at Cape Cod Express in Wareham.
The Boys & Girls Club of Wareham, Earth Lodge, and Onset Youth Center will join WCTV for this inaugural event.
In addition to Record, bands, comedians, singers and dancers will provide entertainment while viewers bid on items "PBS auction style" on Friday, May 21 from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. and on Saturday, May 22 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

If auctions aren't your thing, but you want to support these terrific organizations, you can phone in a donation while enjoying the entertainment. Donations are tax deductible.
Beginning in May, auction items & entertainment updates will be available at www.warehamtv.org. Program books listing auction sets & entertainment schedules will be available after May 8. Books can be picked up at WCTV at 505 Main Street, Wareham. Several local businesses will also have program books.
The proceeds will be used for various projects in support of children.
Barbara Sullivan of the Boys & Girls Club of Wareham said she is excited to use the proceeds to "renovate a large room that will serve as a ‘Tween Center,' which will enable us to provide additional programming for Middle School students."
Marji Wyatt said that proceeds will help build the Onset Youth Center.
"Money generated from this event will help supply the general contractor with building materials for the new building. A demo[lition] permit is in place, and the building construction will begin in May," Wyatt said.
In addition to their own programs, the center will also offer the building as a home base to other youth-affiliated groups.
Earth Lodge assists people be well naturally and promotes peace through sharing, art, music, wisdom and other natural ways. Earth Lodge also produces "At the Hub" on WCTV and runs www.earthlodge.org, a website that serves the community.
Earth Lodge plans to use the funding to support their education and drumming circle programs. Director Kendra Bond said the proceeds will fund additional equipment and liability insurance so Earth Lodge can offer their services anywhere.
