WCTV presents “Parts of Things” exhibit
The Gallery at Wareham Community Television (WCTV) is showcasing an exhibit of “Parts of Things,” fine art photographs by Denn Santoro, from May 1 through June 24.
Santoro’s photos generally concentrate on the interplay of angles and shapes and light.
“I compose with a point of view that is intended to confound the viewers’ normal perspective and view of the world. I enjoy playing with the viewers’ perceptual tendencies in ways that make them engage with the image as they try to force it into a more usual perceptual framework,” he said about his style.
Santoro does this by using radical perspectives, tight and unusual composition, and subtle lines that skew the perspective in a way the mind tends to reject and readjust, placing the focus in unexpected places or the simple inclusion of odd detail.
Santoro is a resident of Rochester. He has worked in private collections in the United States and Europe. This is his first exhibition at the WCTV Gallery.
The public is invited to the opening reception on Friday, May 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at WCTV, located at 505 Main Street. The Gallery generally has variable hours which can be found at http://www.warehamtv.org/contact.shtml. Stop by during those hours or call 508-273-2340 to schedule a visit.
WCTV broadcasts live on Comcast Channel 9 and Verizon Channel 30, and on the web at www.warehamtv.org. It is a nonprofit community television station serving the Town of Wareham, and is supported by members and donations.
