What’s the buzz?
Event Date:
Cic of staying inside? Join science educator Mary Beers and the Wareham Land Trust on a guided walk and talk about cicadas, the infamous insects that haven’t been seen on the Cape since 2008. This walk will take place on Saturday June 14, from 9 to 11 a.m at the Redbrook Trail Network.
Learn more about these insects' amazing life cycles, their role in local ecosystems, and if they really do affect the trees in the area.
All ages are welcome- this is a family friendly event. The trails at the Redbrook Trail Network are moderately difficult and include some steep hills, roots, and varied terrain. Water, sunscreen, and layers are recommended.
The group will meet at Lyman Reserve Parking Lot, head of the Bay Road and Red Brook Road on the Plymouth/Wareham border and continue to the trails from there. The event is free, but there is limited space and registration is necessary.
