In 1894, a group of spiritualists built the On-I-Set Wigwam at 9 Crescent Place in Onset, using it as a place to conduct religious rituals and communicate with the unseen world. 

On Saturday, May 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the On-I-Set Wigwam Spiritualist Camp will hold a fair at the historic building to raise money for its upkeep. 

Vendors will sell artwork, handmade crafts, jewelry, clothing, soap and household goods. 

The origin of the name On-I-Set, which later became Onset, is unknown. Some say it was the name of a Wampanoag chief. The unique design of the On-I-Set Wigwam was inspired by Wampanoag architecture.
