Wilfred “Will” J. Whipple, 82

Wilfred “Will” J. Whipple, 82, of West Wareham died October 7 in the Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, ME. He was the husband of Margaret R. (Rice) Whipple and the son of the late Wilfred J. and Alice (Bailey) Whipple.

He was born in Providence, RI, and lived in Foxboro before moving to Wareham. He served in the United States Air Force for seven years and was a veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Whipple worked as a Direct Support Professional for Mentor Network in Taunton. Previously he worked as a Recreation Therapist at Wrentham State School for many years.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 40 in Plymouth. He loved golfing.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Margaret R. (Rice) Whipple; a brother, Daniel Whipple of Las Vegas, NV; 5 grandchildren of the heart, John Fuller, Jacob, James, Jeremy, and Annette Jordan.

His memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 20,  in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham.

Visiting hours are from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
