William C. Black, 62

William C. Black, 62, of Wareham, died Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at his home after a brief illness.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Ruth L. (Somerville) and William C. Black. A graduate of Wareham High School, William was employed doing odd jobs around Wareham as well as landscaping. William enjoyed riding his bike and enjoyed visiting Foxwoods to play bingo and slots.

He is survived by his son, William C. Black of Wareham; his daughters, Shauntia Black, Shaunelle Black and Jerae Black all of Wareham; his daughter in-law, Lynden Mendes; his grandchildren, Aaliyah, Aaliyana, Aamani, Coco, Rob, Ebony, Ivory, Serenity, Baby Richie, Raekwon, Jasmyn, Ravaun, Riana, Glenn, Alexis, Baby JoJo, Janiah, James, Marquez and Danisha.  He was predeceased by his brother, the late Joseph Phillips, and his long-time companion, Trudy Ann Phillips.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 4 – 7 p.m. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham will take place at a later date.
