Wind and weather knock out power for some in Wareham

Nov 2, 2014

The first dusting of snow this season brought power outages to parts of town Sunday.

As of 1 p.m. NStar was reporting 131 power outages in Wareham. That amounts to about one percent of customers in town. As of 5:30 p.m. that number was down to 31 outages.

"The outages have been steadily going down and we had crews on standby before the storm started," said Mal Duffy, representative with NStar, on Sunday afternoon. "We're making good progress."

By Sunday night, all power in Wareham was restored.

Duffy said the power outages were mostly occurring out on the Cape and that NStar had extra line crews and tree crews at the ready for the duration of the storm.
