Winter updates to free meal distribution for kids

Dec 15, 2020

The Wareham Public Schools will continue to distribute free breakfasts and lunches this winter.

If snow causes the schools to shift to a completely remote learning day due to road safety and transportation concerns, then meals will not be distributed on that day.

Meals will not be distributed between Wednesday, Dec. 23, and Sunday, Jan. 3, due to the winter vacation. Therefore, on Tuesday, Dec. 22, three days of meals, along with extra items like chips and snacks, will be distributed.

Meal distribution will return to normal on Monday, Jan. 4.

Meals can be picked up for any child up to 18 years old, regardless of whether they are enrolled in Wareham Schools. Children do not need to be present for meal pick-up.

Meals are distributed Monday through Friday, with three sets of meals given out on Friday to last over the weekend.

Meals are distributed at the front entrance to the Wareham Middle School from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

At the Decas School cafeteria entrance, the Shangri La playground, the Woods at Wareham apartment complex, and the Onset Bandshell, meals are available from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
