Woman arrested in Wareham on drug charges
Officers of the Wareham Police Department responded to the area of 420 Main Street regarding an altercation reportedly occurring between a female and two males inside a vehicle on Monday, April 20, 2015, at approximately 1:30 a.m.
Arriving officers spoke with Victoria Quintal, 32, of Fall River, Mass., who appeared intoxicated and was standing barefoot outside the vehicle she said she drove from Fall River, Mass., according to Wareham Police.
Although she denied being physically assaulted, Quintal appeared to be involved in some type of physical altercation, police said.
According to the police, she explained to officers that she arrived in Wareham to meet with two unknown males she made contact with online
Police said officers noticed 2 firearms on the front seat of the vehicle driven by Quintal, which was locked. With the assistance of Wareham Fire Department personnel, entry into the vehicle was gained, at which time the weapons were determined to be 2 pellet guns.
Police said as the weapons were being recovered, officers noticed a clear plastic baggie containing 7 individually wrapped packages containing a substance suspected to be heroin.
Also discovered inside the vehicle was a digital scale and sandwich bags, according to Wareham Police.
Police said a further search of the vehicle led to the discovery of two corner cut plastic baggies containing 20 pills determined to be Oxycodone, another plastic baggie containing 40 Diazepam pills, and another plastic baggie containing 3 Suboxone pills.
A metal container was also discovered and contained a plastic baggie containing a small amount of suspected crack cocaine and 4 Oxycodone pills, along with a small amount of suspected powered cocaine and a small amount of marijuana, according to police.
Quintal has been arrested and charged with possession of a class A substance (Heroin) with intent to distribute, and six other counts of possession with intent to distribute. She will be arraigned on charges at the Wareham District Court Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
