Work out to support veterans at YMCA

Approximately 22 veterans die by suicide each day.

In order to raise awareness of this crisis and show the nation’s heroes from all eras that they are not alone, join Operation Ward 57 in a boot camp workout at the Gleason Family YMCA, 33 Charge Pond Road, at 5:15 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 17. 

The workout will consist of 22 reps of 22 different workouts. At the 22-minute mark, there will be a moment of silence in honor of veterans that have died by suicide. 

Operation Ward 57 is a nonprofit providing service animals to sick and wounded veterans. The nonprofit’s Honor and Courage program provides a 24/7 crisis hotline to veterans and their families.

For those who are not members of the Gleason Y, the workout requires a $14 guest pass, available at the front desk.
