On your mark, get set, quack: The annual duck race is near
Feeling ducky? Waddle on down to the Tihonet Pond Canal for a duck race.
The Friends of the Wareham Free Library will host their annual Rubber Duck Race on Sunday, May 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tihonet Village.
The event will take place along the Tihonet Pond Canal, with activities beginning at 11 a.m. Duck registration runs from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., followed by the official “duck drop” at 1 p.m.
Those interested can purchase rubber ducks for the race in advance or on the day of the event. Pricing options include $5 for a single duck, six ducks for $25, 13 ducks for $50 and 25 ducks for $100.
Ducks may be purchased and decorated ahead of time at the Wareham Free Library, 59 Marion Road. Participants are encouraged to personalize their ducks before race day.
Following registration, attendees can take part in games and activities held on the lawn behind Box Mill Hall. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Friends of the Wareham Free Library.
