May 13, 2013

Wareham's Community and Economic Development Authority, the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce, and Eastern Bank will host the Business to Business Expo: A Focus on Regional Tourism, this Friday, May 17, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Bay Pointe Club in Onset.

An array of vendors will be on-hand to chat with expo-goers beginning at 11 a.m.

Lunch and a panel discussion will follow at noon, featuring state Rep. Susan Williams Gifford, state Senator Marc Pacheco, Paul Cripps of the Plymouth County Development Council, Selectmen Chair Peter Teiteulbaum, Bruce Hutchins of the Cranberry Region Visitor Center, and Linda Burke of the A.D. Makepeace Company.

The panel and attendees will discuss how the Town of Wareham can position itself as a Southeastern Massachusetts tourism destination.

"A regional approach to tourism will benefit all of us," said Community and Economic Development Authority Director Salvador Pina.

Pina said he hopes the expo will help the town build partnerships with the business community, and help the business community build partnerships with each other.

Tickets cost $25 per person. Tables of eight people may register for the discounted price of $175. Advanced registration is required, but can be completed online by visiting the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce website, www.capecodcanalchamber.org.
