Auction for the Onset-Wareham Fireworks a hit

Jun 12, 2013

The annual auction for the Onset-Wareham Fireworks display was a big hit at Mezza Luna in Buzzards Bay on Thursday, June 6.

“We’re on a roll,” said Jackie Lindsey, co-chair of the committee charged with raising the more than $20,000 for the annual fireworks display over Onset Bay.

“We did even better than last year,” Lindsey said of the annual auction, “and everyone had a great time!”

Auctioned off was everything from a novelty toilet flusher shaped like a sailboat to a $1,000 diamond and sapphire bracelet donated by AJ Marks Jewelers.

“The entire venue was made possible again this year thanks to the gracious generosity of  E.J. Cubellis of the Mezza Luna Restaurant, Meaghan O’Brien, and his entire staff,” Lindsey said. She also thanked the entire fireworks committee that worked to put the event together.

The committee has less than a month to raise the last $3,000 needed. To donate, visit the Onset Bay Association’s website at: http://onsetvillage.org.p8.hostingprod.com.
