Sherry L. (Correia) Westgate, 70, of West Wareham, died June 25, at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a long illness. She was the wife of John A. Westgate, Sr.

Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late George & Lillian (Norfielice) Correia. Mrs. Westgate was a registered nurse and worked at Tobey Hospital, Cape Cod VNA, and the Bristol County Jail.

She enjoyed rollerskating and was an artistic skating coach. Mrs. Westgate also loved animals, especially her cats, sewing, and art.

Survivors include her husband, two sons, Christopher Russell Westgate of Jefferson, NH and John A. Westgate, Jr. of Wareham; her grandchildren, Rachael, Jo’nele, Caleb, and Logan.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Center Cemetery, Wareham. Visiting hours will be Friday from 3 – 7 PM at the funeral home.
