Play a hand while paddling at the Onset Bay Association's annual Kayak Poker Run this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Sponsored by the L.L. Bean Outlet, participants of all abilities are eligible to join in the fun, leaving from Shell Point and paddling around Onset Bay to pick up five cards.

Once back at the Point, you can get a "hit" and discard and purchase up to five cards for $2 apiece.  Your final hand will be turned in to event organizers and the best hand (following standard poker rules), will be awarded the grand prize.

The event costs $25 to "ante up," and Cape Cod Kayak of Bourne has set aside boats for the event at a special rate. Recreation kayaks are $20 and touring boats are $30 (includes pfd and paddle). Call the store at 508-563-9377 and mention that you are participating in the OBA poker run for more details on rentals and pick up of boats.

The final kayak route will be announced before the event (depending on weather conditions) but will be within Onset Bay. All participants will be REQUIRED to wear a life jacket.
