Walter Francis Johnson, 61, of Norfolk, VA, died suddenly July 29. He was the husband of Judieth N. (Lloyd) Johnson. He was born in Wareham on April 21, 1952, son of Alton and Mildred E. (Ritchie) Johnson.

Walter attended Wareham Public Schools, and lived in Wareham until joining the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy, he lived in Maryland and Virginia.

Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Margaret L. Morehead; three stepsons, Leonard, Matthew, and Daniel; a grandson, Donnyeill C. Morehead; a sister, Mildred E. Griffith of Wareham; two brothers, Ronald B. Johnson of Reeds Spring, MO, and James E. Johnson of New Bedford. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Donald D. Johnson and Alton Johnson Jr.

There will be a private burial service, held at the convenience of the family, at Centre Cemetery in Wareham.
