Housing Authority raising money for generators

Sep 18, 2013

Open letter to the public: Generators

The new board of directors at the Wareham Housing Authority is working to restore dignity to our residents and provide the safe and decent housing conditions called for. We are working with state officials on the lack of hot water at Redwood Park and the building renovations at Agawam Village. Unfortunately, there is no funding for generators.

Therefore, we are asking for donation of any amount which will be set aside in a special fund to be used only for generators in the residents' community room at Redwood Park and Agawam Village.

This will allow the residents a safe place with heat, cooking, laundry, lighting and toilet facilities when they are without power in their apartments. In this way, the town's facilities will not be stressed with transporting and caring for the residents of 103 units of the Authority. Donations can be mailed to the Wareham Housing Authority [located at 57 Sandwich Rd.. Wareham MA 02571], or brought to Eastern Bank on 226 Main St. Wareham MA, 02571 in care of Wareham Housing Authority Generator Fund.

Sincerely,

For the Board

Rudolph Santos Sr., Vice Chairman
