The Wareham High School Best Buddies team participated in the organization's Milton 5K Gobbler on Saturday, November 23, and raised $1,545 for the nonprofit.
Best Buddies works to create opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Wareham High's group was recognized as the second highest fundraising high school team. The team will be recognized at Best Buddies' annual winter formal.
The Wareham High School team has been participating in the Gobbler for the past three years, and has doubled its participation in each subsequent year.
