Wareham Tigers play final game at 1:15 p.m. today
The Wareham Tigers will be playing in the final game of their season today at 1:15 p.m. They will face the North Raleigh Bulldogs in a consolation game of the National Championships at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex in Fla.
While the Tigers lost in a close game on Saturday, the Bulldogs lost 42-10 to their opponents.
Following the game, the Tigers will get a few extra days in the warm, sunny Fla. landscape before heading back home to Wareham.
However, the Tigers will be coming back to a community that has provided warmth that no thermometer can measure. The community helped the team raise over $50,000 to make the trip possible.
Donations came from sources from Narrow’s Crossing to New England Patriot Vince Wilfork’s family.
The Wilfork donation is in the name of Bianca Wilfork, Vince’s wife.
The $1,000 donation was made with the message, ‘Good job guys Love the Wilforks.’
The donation was part of any online fundraising campaign on gofundme.com. The site helped the Tigers raise over $10,000.
