Wareham resident charged with possession with intent to distrubute
On the afternoon of Thursday, Dec. 12, a joint investigation involving detectives of the Wareham Police Department, Middleboro Police Department and the United States Postal Service resulted in a search warrant for illegal drugs being executed at 96 Plymouth Ave. in the East Wareham.
Specifically, the search warrant was issued regarding a large amount of marijuana intended for postal delivery at the address.
Upon entry into the residence, detectives seized the delivered package, which contained approximately 8 to 10 pounds of marijuana wrapped in 25 individual plastic baggies, with a street value of approximately $18,000 to $20,000. The origin of the sent marijuana is under investigation.
Arrested at the residence was 23-year-old Zachary Driscoll, who took possession of the marijuana upon delivery. Driscoll was arraigned at Wareham 4th District Court on the charge of Possession of a Class D Substance (Marijuana) with Intent to Distribute.
Interim Police Chief Kevin Walsh praised the cooperative and combined efforts of the agencies involved in this investigation, which removed a large of amount of marijuana intended for sale in the streets of Wareham.
