Wareham Police Department detectives seized nearly $10,000 cash and over 20 oxycodone/hydrochloride Percocet pills following the execution of a search warrant on Wednesday, Jan. 15, around 3 p.m.

The search warrant was regarding the alleged sale and possession of illegal drugs by 24-year-old Keith Murdock at #20-A Old Onset Road in Onset.

Upon their entry into the home, police say Murdock fled the residence. After a brief foot chase, Murdock was apprehended. He was found to possess 21 Percocet 30 mg. pills, which were “hidden on his person in a plastic baggie,” according to interim Police Chief Kevin Walsh.

Detectives say they found $8,200 hidden in various cash amounts in clothing items during a search of Murdock’s bedroom. The cash, which was believed to be proceeds derived from the sale of illegal narcotics, was seized as evidence.

Murdock was arrested for possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute, and later posted bail at the Wareham Police Department. He was arraigned at Wareham District Court on Thursday, Jan. 16.
