School Committee member Ken Fontes will not seek re-election.

“I want to focus on the club,” said Fontes, who is also director of the Wareham Boys and Girls Club.

On Jan. 29, the School Committee recognized Fontes' efforts in pulling together the club's Martin Luther King Day breakfast.

"It was an incredible event," said member Cliff Sylvia. "I was really kind of comfortable there."

"It was my first time, and it was really special," said member Mike Flaherty.

Fontes’ and member Cliff Sylvia’s School Committee seats will both be on the ballot in the April town election. Sylvia announced on Jan. 8 that he would seek reelection.
