A day in the life with Annmarie

Feb 12, 2014

The photography of Jeanette Fuller brings into the limelight an unlikely figure of Wareham whose presence was seen by many, but story went unnoticed - until now.

The Gallery at WCTV will present an exhibit of “The Wanderer: A Day in the Life of Annmarie”, fine art photographs by Jeanette Fuller, from Feb. 21 through April 21.

“Like so many people, I passed Annmarie on the streets for years. Day after day, I wanted to hear her story but I couldn't bring myself to approach her," Fuller said. "Finally, my senior year of college was upon me, and it was time to begin a life changing assignment.”

Fuller spent many days and nights with Annmarie from September 2012 through May 2013. They sat on what seemed to be every curb in Wareham.

“I always took an interest in people and their personal stories. Everyone has something to share, and Annmarie did just that," Fuller said. "She moved me, and brought me to both laughter and tears. Many nights I got into my car and instantly tears would pour down my face as I drove away from my meetings with her."

Fuller displayed some of her prints at Gallery X in New Bedford last May. Annmarie was invited to view the photos but she declined her request.

“Everyone who saw the images loved them. The amount of positive feedback I received was astounding. I saw Annmarie on two more occasions after the project was completed,” Fuller said.

Tragically, Annmarie passed away on May 22, 2013.

“The project may have been completed, but Annmarie would remain in my thoughts. When I heard of her passing I was shocked," Fuller said. "Somehow, she came into my life to teach me something, and she taught me so much more than I could have asked for.”

Fuller is a resident of Plymouth and although she has had photo exhibitions in the past, this is her first at the WCTV Gallery.

Everyone is invited to the opening reception Friday, Feb. 21 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at WCTV located at 505 Main St., Wareham. Refreshments will be served. To schedule a visit, call 508-273-2340.
