Applause for a Cause a rousing success
Community kudos to all who helped make WCTV's Applause for a Cause inaugural launch successful.
Buzzards Play Production owners Janice and Frank Rogers made WCTV feel right at home. Rose Berry of Eastern Bank took the financial helm as she always does for WCTV. Ten acts donated their gifts of talent and time for a great variety show; Jess Smart, Cassie Jordan, Michelle Bowlin, Cam Decas, Aaron Norcross, Mat Rose, Stephan Hettinger, Anthony Elicier, Beautiful Tuesday and Hot Soup.
WCTV staff and members made the acts shine for our TV and internet viewers while attendees got to see a live broadcast production as well as the show.
Basket and phone donations to Turning Point Day Resource Center totaled $1500. Others called in for Turning Point's mailing address to send checks (Turning Point Box 486, Wareham Ma 02571. Please include "Applause" in the memo, so we can track final totals).
Our friends at MegaNet Communications and Clear Sounds Communications, as well as Eastern Bank enabled us to connect with off site viewers.
Thanks to local Wareham Dunkin Donuts and Minerva's pizza for fueling the production crew for set up, as well as for the evening guests and talent. Bailey's Restaurant and Turning Point volunteers contributed to the goodie table for guests and talent. The donations were also shared with Nights of Hospitality and the Kendrick House.
Given its success, "Applause for a Cause" is added to the WCTV collaborative events promoting our schools, businesses, organizations and area talent. Only WCTV members submit names into the "Cause Lottery," so consider becoming a member!
With the applause fading, WCTV is gearing up for WCTV LIVE Auction and Entertainment - Take 5 on May 17 hosted by Wareham's Lodge of Elks. This year's non-profit partners are Saints and Singers Chorus and Riverside Church. Scott Record returns to emcee. More information will be posted shortly on warehamtv.org.
