The Oak Grove Cape Verdean Cultural Center will be "Building a Legacy" with a dance to benefit the cultural center's building fund.

The dance will be held from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. at the Onset VFW on Friday, August 13, the evening before the Onset Cape Verdean Festival. A donation of $12 will gain admittance to the event, which features the "Brothers to Brothers" band and D.J. Jimmy Britto.

The Oak Grove Cape Verdean Cultural Center will promote Cape Verdean culture, identity and community impact by offering educational opportunities in partnership with Bridgewater State College, showcasing the Cape Verdean community's history, and providing space for different community groups to gather and interact.
