Students study wild animals at Minot
From 20,000 leagues under the sea to the depths of the rain forest, the first-graders at Minot Elementary School knew all about the world's exoctic animals.
Denise Jop's first-grade students put their wildlife skills on display at Friday's Habitat Expo that featured students and families sharing their research about animals, their features, and habitats.
Jop said the students have been learning about wild animals for a month at school and they were given an in-class assignment as well as a take report to do at home.
Some students had posters and others dioramas, like Ayden Akell, who was excited to show off his underwater scene filled with Octopuses and Orcas.
Fellow first-grader Mikela York chose to do her project on the Australia natives, koala bears.
"I picked koalas because they're cute," she said.
