Raymond Anthony Pezzoli Jr., 74

May 23, 2014

Raymond Anthony Pezzoli Jr., 74, of Maui, Hawaii and Wareham passed away on May 15 at his apartment in Avila Beach, California, after a battle with throat cancer.

Ray was born on April 9, 1940 in Wareham to Alice and Raymond A. Pezzoli, Sr. He was proudest of his dad, Wareham Patrolman Pezzoli, who received honors for his capture of four bank robbers after sustaining a headshot injury.

He was a former teacher, benefactor, magazine and book author, stockbroker, aviator, biker, Shelby Cobra trailblazer, restaurateur, Vietnam veteran, lacrosse and football standout, class-clown, tubist, and altar boy. He slipped the surly bonds of earth to reach the sky he relished.

Ray is survived by a sister, Dr. Jean Pezzoli, of Maui and by a bevy of longstanding friends who enjoyed watching, partaking, and reading about his frequent adventures.

His funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 30th from Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
