David Jerrold Waff, 77

David Jerrold Waff 77, of Florida and formerly of Wareham died June 10 at home after a long illness. Born in Norwood, he was the husband of Karen A. (Monroe) Waff and the son of the late William Henry Waff and Dorothy (Hunt) Waff.

After graduating from Norwood High School, David proudly served in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Otis Air Force Base with the 102nd fighting unit for many years. He received many awards and commendations for the time he served, including the rank of Master Sergeant, ANGUS and was recognized for 33 years of service in the Armed forces of the United States, including 23 years of service in the National Guard. He retired in 1992 with Full Military Honors Bestowed by the United States Air Force.

He loved to fix things. If someone said it could not be fixed, he would fix it anyway. Other pastimes he enjoyed were working on old cars, playing cards, walking around flea markets, sitting by his coal stove when it was cold, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Karen Waff as well as his first wife Barbara A (Gale) Waff and their children David A Waff of South Dakota, Doreen A (Waff) Champoux and her husband Bruce of Wareham, Donald Waff of Wareham, Dorothy (Waff) Tibbetts and her husband Bruce of Georgia. He had six grandchildren; Timothy, Annalyse, Ashlyn, Analea, Kimberly, and Gabrielle; and two great-grandchildren Rachael and Vanessa; as well as lots of family and friends. He will be missed.

The memorial service will be at the Tabernacle of Praise Church at 189 Hathaway Street, Wareham, MA on July 26, 2014 at 11 a.m.
