David Edward Bohlken, 70
David Edward Bohlken, 70, of Onset, passed away peacefully on recently after a brief illness at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center – Forestview in Wareham. He was the beloved husband of Edwin A. Karlson of Onset and the son of the late Carl and Gladys (Simpson) Bohlken.
Survivors include his husband, Edwin A. Karlson of Onset; his sister, Charlene Clifford; two brothers, Donald and Carl Bohlken, Jr.; many nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grandnieces.
He grew up in Braintree where he attended school and was an active participant in church activities, especially the choir and other musical events.
He worked in both the banking and insurance industries until his retirement in 2007.
He was well-loved in his neighborhood, especially by several of his mature neighbors. It was not unusual to find him doing many chores they were unable to complete.
He had a special place in his heart for the homeless and was often seen helping them out either financially of just making sure they were cool in the summer and warm in the winter. He will be missed greatly by so many. We will all love and miss you greatly David. May your journey be peaceful and full of love!
David’s funeral services will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
