Edward Delorie, 67
Lifelong Wareham resident Edward Delorie,67, died Thursday Dec. 4, 2014 at the Bourne Manor.
He was born Edward Peter Delorie on June 28, 1947 in Boston, the son of George L. and Dorothy M. (Kane) Delorie.
Edward attended and graduated from Malden High School in 1965. He served his country in United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1968.
On May 18, 1968 he was united in marriage to Marion Fitzpatrick in Malden. To this union three children were born, Michelle, Edward, and Denelle.
He was an architect, and enjoyed fishing , bowling, golfing, homesteading and being on the water.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, daughter Denelle, siblings Ralph Delorie and William Delorie.
Surviving family members are his daughter Michelle Delorie and partner David Monteiro Jr., son Edward Delorie Jr. and his wife Michelle Sano-Delorie, all of Wareham, and grandchildren Billy Silvers, Evelyn Delorie, and Alexia Monteiro.
He is also survived by siblings Donald Delorie, George Delorie Jr., Mary Scully, Margaret MacDonald and James Delorie. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday Dec. 10, at 12:30 p.m. at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne. Rev. Peter Skipper officiating. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery with Marine Corps Funeral Honors.
Visitation with family will be on Wednesday Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Edward’s name to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, or Heroes In Transition.
