Ellen Marie "Lynne" Westgate , 68 of East Wareham passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 5 at Tobey Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was born December 3, 1946 in Wareham to the late Francis and Emily McWillams. Lynne was a long time resident of Wareham where she worked and raised her four children. She loved to cook and enjoyed crossword puzzles and bingo. She enjoyed shopping and visiting yard sales.

She is the beloved wife of 30 years to Leslie A. Westgate, Jr and devoted mother and grandmother. She lovingly cared for her dog, Buster and bird, Turbo. She was at her happiest when she was spending time with her family and loved ones.

In addition to her parents, Lynne was predeceased by her brothers, Milton Morse, Patrick McWilliams and Dana McWilliams and sister in law, Beatrice McWilliams. She was also predeceased by sister Lorraine McWilliams. She is survived by her husband, Leslie A. Westgate, Jr of East Wareham and by her siblings Francis McWilliams Jr. and wife Claire, Gardner McWilliams and wife Joyce and Colleen McAdams of Wareham.

Lynne was also survived by her children Lisa and Danny Laing of Marion, Holly Briggs of Dearing, Georgia, Heidi Duarte of Wareham, Jennifer Gargile of Tiverton, Rhode Island, and Leslie A. Westgate III and Jennifer McDermott of Buzzards Bay; her grandchildren Nicole and Jeremy Haynes of Wren, Georgia; Roland and Michael Canuel of Apopka, Florida; Cory, Nathan, Aiden Cabral and Bailey Gargile of Tiverton, Rhode Island; and Jack and Michaela Doran and Ainsley Westgate of Buzzards Bay; and great-grandchildren Skyler, Kenny, Tailynn and Allyanna. Lynne had many surviving extended family members near and far.

A memorial visitation and Service of Remembrance and giving thanks will be held on Saturday, Dec. 20 at the Lakeville Church of the Nazarene, 180 Main St. Lakeville, MA at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Place, Suite 745, Boston, MA 02215.
