Doris Martin Cruz, 83
Doris Martin Cruz, 83, died Sunday, February 8 at her home in Onset. She was the wife of the late Frank L. Cruz.
Born in Onset, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Candia (Gonsalves) Martin. A lifelong resident of Onset, she worked for Aerovox as an assembler, Ocean Spray as a screener and Green Harbors Hotel as a chambermaid. Mrs. Cruz was a member of the Dudley Brown V.F.W. Post # 2426 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children, James Cruz of Rochester, Raymond Cruz of San Antonio, Texas, Maria Cruz of Onset, Robynn Cruz-Walker of Braintree, Carolynn Anderson of Landover Hills, Maryland, Frank L. Cruz Jr. of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Lynda Brown of Boston; her brother, Joseph Silva of Whitman; her sister, and Angelina “Rita” Strange-Bell of Philadelphia; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings, the late William Martin, Christine Sadler, Eugene Martin, Mamie Gonsalves and Geraldine Lindsey,
Her funeral will be from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham on Fri., February 13 at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, Onset at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
