Three Fire District candidates win election unopposed
Three unopposed positions were filled but there were only two re-elections after Saturday's Wareham Fire District elections.
Prudential Committee member Richard England was elected to the Board of Water Commissioners, receiving 121 votes of the 127 ballots cast.
"I've got a lot of learning to do," England said about his new position.
Longtime Water Commissioner Ted Hatch announced he would not be seeking re-election to his position back in February. He has served the District since 1996.
"Ted Hatch is gonna be some tough shoes to fill," England said.
"A lot of money goes through the Water Department and we've got a lot of big ticket items coming up real fast," England said. "I'm going to put in every effort I need to see we make the right decisions."
Ron Enos and Ken Baptiste were re-elected to the Prudential Committee with 105 and 99 votes respectively.
