Two arrested on drug charges in East Wareham
A man and woman were arrested for heroin and cocaine possession among other charges after police searched the man's East Wareham home Thursday.
Anthony Walters, 55, of 96 Plymouth Ave. was arrested along with 31-year-old Elizabeth Taylor, of Plymouth, according to police.
Police said a search warrant for illegal drugs was executed at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Arriving at the house, police report finding Taylor parked in the driveway and in possession of four Suboxone strips and a hypodermic needle.
Suboxone is normally used to treat opiate addiction. Taylor was arrested and charged with possession of a Class B substance (Suboxone).
Police said as detectives entered the home, Walters was stopped in a vehicle on Plymouth Avenue and was found with a plastic baggie containing several pieces of suspected heroin and $400 cash.
Police said they found a digital scale, a glass tube containing suspected cocaine residue, baking soda, plastic baggies, and ledgers with documented dollar amounts indicating illegal drug sales in Walters’ bedroom.
Walters was arrested and charged with possession of a class A substance (heroin) with intent to distribute, subsequent offense and possession of a class B substance (cocaine).
Walters and Taylor were arraigned on the charges at Wareham Fourth District Court on Friday, May 29. The arraignment continued on Saturday, May 30.
Walters posted his own bail of $1,000, and Taylor was released on personal recognizance. Both will return to court.
